Module Design

Module design is a vital and extremely important factor that affects the filtration performance, length of service life and cleaning effectiveness of membranes.

Theway has incessantly improved the module designs of all products offered, over multiple generations to ensure that the current generation's module design is state-of-the-art.

Theway employs a potent combination of computation fluid dynamics modelling, experimental data, historical performance data of existing installations, simulations of membranes under various feed conditions, with variations in cleaning, backwash, chemical wash cycles and sound engineering principles to design membrane modules.

CFD_MODULE DESIGN

Modules are designed to increase

  • Uniformity of Pressure distribution

  • Uniformity of Flow distribution

  • Smooth Tangential entry of feed water

  • Module service life

  • Effectiveness of Cleaning cycle

  • Avoidance of dead zones (spaces inside the module with permanent accumulation of suspended particles and impurities)

  • Avoidance of excessive pressure on potting (Failure to do this results in caving of potting layer)

  • Axial and Radial Strengthening

  • Reduction of flow resistance inside module

  • Permeate collection efficiency

  • Lateral fiber support
